In pure numbers, 738,000 Republicans voted in the SC primary vs. 365,000 for the Democrats. They are also down by 200,000 compared to 2008. What are the implications for the general?

The DNC have tried from the start to sap all energy out of the process, knowing it would benefit Sanders, with as few debates as possible and making sure that people hear the republican message loud and clear. Who knows what the implications are, but it doesnt look good.

I will continue to phonebank and volunteer for Sanders until the very end though. Hillary really has terrible appeal among swing voters, thats for sure.

I doubt it will have any real implications for the General, the Republicans are going to win S.C regardless. The GOP nomination in S.C was also more highly contested than the Democratic one. Dem turnout was around 370k, (final numbers aren't known yet) which is down from the record 532k in 08, but is up a bit from the 293k in 2004.

Nobody sees how many voted. All people see is that Hillary won with 74% of the vote.

Everybody knows SC is a red state and the GOP will carry it in the general.

But this month, Hillary got 30,000 more SC votes than Trump.
