The guy says he doesn't like the politican label but that's exactly what he's being. He's flip flopped on so many issues he makes Kerry look like a man of convictions. The same things people would ding other politicians for, trump is doing the exact same thing yet he American reality show sheep overlook it just because it's "the Donald"

Flip Flop or Pivoting? Watching the attacks on Trump in the debate last night I can't believe how they were attacking him. They were pulling up things from 20-30 years ago. I think most people would change their minds on important topics in their lives as they aged and matured.

As for the more recent flip flops I think Trump is a guy that often gets on a rant then the next day he or his advisors tell him to back it up a bit. He was so keen on deporting 11 million illegal aliens but now I think he realizes that that is not possible.

There has to be give and take in any negotiations or debate. People do change their minds as more evidence comes to light. Trump is a business man, a salesman so he is constantly trying to please as many people as possible. It is his nature.

Looking at the 3 other candidates Trump has tried and failed at more things then the 3 have in total. He has also seen more success than the other 3. There really is no comparison to Trump.

Would he make a good president? who knows.

Excellent post. I could not have said it better.

I first voted in 1972 for the Democrat and continued to vote as a Democrat until this century. I did vote for Bill Clinton at least in his first term and I have never voted for a GOP candidate for POTUS. I have voted 3rd party the last 2 elections, or 3.

People do evolve and change their opinions. If you are paying attention as you age, you learn from your mistakes. With the computer age came so many opportunities to put it all together. Information at our finger tips. Also, so much has been learned through science, etc. It is a whole new world with really serious problems.

I remember when our country was great and people got health care when they needed it and it was affordable. We didn't have people sleeping in the park or using illegal drugs coming in from Mexico, I lived on a main artery of the distribution and I can assure you that it is ignored for whatever reasons. There were good jobs with good benefits and enough jobs for everyone. It is a sad situation now.

I believe Trump is our best shot at getting any traction in reversing the direction of our country. I caucus for him March 5.

So now the right wing that is so angry that Congress cooperated with Obama on the fiscal cliff and the budget is now all in for "flexibility". The duplicity makes my head hurt. Why dont they just admit it? They like Trump because of his bigotry. They will stick with him as long as he puts down people of color and non-Christians - Hispanics and Muslims specifically. They are not fooling anyone anymore.

Get with the program OP. He "evolved"

Evolve: Verb(used with object) evolved, evolving

1. Euphemism for flip flopping.

I'm younger, but also have voted Democrat.
I know that people change their views over time. Hillary doesn't really appeal to me. I'm not saying she'd do a horrible job...it's just I don't think it would be too much of a change. Perhaps she could get more done versus Obama, but Obama's mistake was trying to work with people that were never going to work with him. He was an optimist , but just got roadblocked. I think Republicans would overall work better with Hillary.

While I don't think Bernie Sanders is a bad guy, I think a Bernie Sanders presidency would be worse than a Trump presidency. A lot of people put the Socialist label on Obama, but Bernie calls himself a Democratic Socialist.
Yes there is far too much poverty in this country, but forcing employers to pay higher wages will be bad for everyone not just the big corporations.
Increasing taxes on companies too I'm not sure will really work , as it will likely force more and more companies to go overseas. I mean companies like Apple are doing it now. Maybe Bernie would be able to make that illegal...but I think that business will always find a way or a loophole when there is so much money at stake.

The appeal of Trump is that he isn't bought and paid for by big corporations like Clinton, Rubio and Cruz.
That in itself is really a huge thing.
He also has multiple decades of business experience and the other candidates have none.

I know it might sound crazy given the media image of Trump..but I think he's really the most practical common sense candidate.
Even though he says he's a conservative for example he's stated that he realizes Planned Parenthood is important for many women. He just seems to be opposed to women using it for abortion services.

The others on the right are always yelling about how Planned Parenthood needs to be abolished, this department or program needs to be abolished.

I also like how he spoke about the corruption in regards to military contracts. There is massive waste in the military because of big corporations donating to politicians such as Cruz and Rubio to make sure us tax payers are over paying...and buying equipment we don't need.

It's just horrible the waste. Imagine how much better that money could be spent on things that help actual Americans

Agreed. I was pretty impressed with how Trump explained changing his opinion on things...it definitely made sense and was very relatable. People certainly can and do have a change of opinion on certain things...a day's difference of information certainly can make a difference.

Oh, give up on the bigotry. That myth was dispelled some time ago. Are you one that has a problem with "legal" versus "illegal"? Crime by illegals: Examples of Serious Crimes by Illegal Aliens. The cost of illegal immigration, #13 billion a year: The Fiscal Burden of Illegal Immigration on United States Taxpayers (2013) and if given amnesty, $6.3 trillion: https://www.myheritage.org/news/the-...-6-3-trillion/

Muslim crimes against US citizens: Islamic Attacks on America

People of "color": Diamond and Silk

Obama is a horse's butt and has tried continuously to side against the US citizens every chance that he has gotten and we need to not only rid the White House of Democrats but do a good house cleaning of all elected politicians. It can be done.

I thought everyone knew that negotiation is a part of our governmental process. Silly me.

I'm curious as to how much he 'evolved' in that off-the-record meeting. Talk about interesting transcripts.

Yeah I mean , don't we have a negative word for people that don't change their views...despite new information ? Stubborn?

Maybe Cruz or Rubio have changed views less...but their views still suck less than Trumps!

Hey at least Cruz just got a big *cough* TRANSformational endorsement
