Open Borders is a handy anti-Johnson chant, and it works with the low information voters, but it does not describe Johnson's preferred immigration policy.
I hesitate to use the term "low information voter" I just think many people are victims of our current two party system that doesn't allow the third party candidates to get out there and not only share their message/ideas, but also take questions, clarify, reform, and modify what they are saying so its easier for people to understand who arent either policy wonks, or super educated on some of these one issue polarizing debate topics. I'm sure if Gary Johnson had as much TV and media exposure, some of these uncertainties would be easier for people to understand, and on the flip side, harder to intentionally misrepresent.

A vote for Gary Johnson is a vote for Hillary Clinton, and the latest CNN
poll proves it, because Johnson went down to 7%, and Trump took the
national lead.

Nothing proves that voting for one person is a vote for another person, unless you believe there is voter fraud. A vote for Gary Johnson is nothing more than a vote for Gary Johnson, sorcery and witchcraft aside.

I doubt it. His track record as governor of New Mexico was pretty awful.

He was re-elected with overwhelming numbers. Why was it bad?

But what about the other 2 polls released, both of which show Johnson at 12%? (NBC and IBD)

The NBC poll shows 48/42 - Clinton.
But 41/37/12 when Johnson is allowed in. Doesn't that show Johnson taking from both sides?

The IBD poll shows 44/43 - Clinton
But 39/39/12 when Johnson is allowed in. Doesn't that show Johnson taking from both sides?

For that matter, if you are talking about the CNN poll, it, too shows Johnson taking from both sides - 4 to 5% from each side.

So I say no. A vote for Gary Johnson may prevent Hillary from winning, but will not help Trump. The problem is, Clinton has all the right states. In order to lose someone has to take those states away from her. And Trump can't do it. Clinton can beat him easily with 40% of the popular vote.

The very best thing that can happen is for Johnson to tie things up in November so that The House has to make the decision.

Sounds contradictory to me. Taking away votes from Clinton will only help Trump.

Evidently, his record was bad because he was not Trump.

Fact is, he had a good record. He was reelected with 54% of the popular vote. There is no other record that I can find of his popularity numbers.
