To be fair, 80% of pro-Trump threads here are a one-paragraph opinion piece backed up by zero facts or reality. . . . . I'm just keepin' it real, cuz.
As for the debates, Trump will win on style (for the lack of a better word) and Clinton will win on substance. Each side and its supporters will proclaim victory.
Off the teleprompter, if pushed by the moderator or Clinton, there is no doubt that Trump will commit unforced errors. Probably egregious ones (e.g., the abortion comment -- the women should be punished for having an abortion -- to Chris Matthews). He will show that he can't string together more than one coherent sentence, if that, and that he is totally clueless about facts and policies. However, with hyperbole, made up facts, decisiveness and charisma, Trump will hang in there.
Ultimately, these don't really matter. Over 90% of the voters have made up their minds already, according to the polls. In 2012, Obama got creamed by Romney in the first debate . . . . . that was a consensus. Yet Obama won by a landslide. So . . . .

I think this is apples and oranges. 2 very different elections, and 2 very different candidates. Can you think of a more boring debate than Obama vs Romney? I think there will be a lot more viewers this time, and Trump is a wildcard. That can work for or against him in a drastic way. Romney was quite the opposite. You knew exactly what he was going to say before he said it, and anything he said was going to be "safe".
I can't see how the debates will be in any way positive for Trump. Has he survived any debate without saying something that got him in a pile of hot water? His debate strategy is not based on substance, it's based on style because he has no plan and knows very little. That will not sustain him in a long debate with Clinton. He will look like a fool.
Trumpsters seem to forget that his support is really not increasing. Clinton has fallen and that's why the gap closed. Trump can't seem to get over 41-43% in virtually any poll.
I think the debates are going to push Trump over the top and put him into the white house. He shines in front of a crowed he is entertaining and we all know if you want to win you have to look good in front the TV camera. Take Bill Clinton he really knew how to put on the charm in front of people he just looked good. She just has no appeal and I think the debates are going to be a disaster for her. The debates are late in the month only a few weeks away from election day. You hardcore Hillary fans need to stop fooling yourself and be honest here compare her to Bill she has none of the charm he had. Even Obama had way more charm that's why he beat her when she ran against him. He didn't win because of the minority vote he looked good up on stage.
Mat Lauer did something really brave and he just may have open the flood gates for other real Journalist to be Journalist. The questions for Clinton may be very difficult. So we may see this may not be a cake walk for Dems.
Trumps is gaining support of the Blacks and Latinos and is doing better than Romney. As more comes out of Clinton emails, security issues and the private server.
Clinton perjures her self everyday. So the fact checkers in the debate will have Clinton for lunch!

Trump will get some great zingers in. He'll talk a lot, but will not say anything of real substance or give any details about how he will accomplish anything.
Clinton will sound angry and not come across as likeable, but she'll be better prepared on the issues.
Neither of them will win the debates.
Americans will be the real losers this November no matter who wins the election.

That article and the data is three months old. That is a long time in politics. Maybe Trump has closed that gap, maybe he hasn't.

What this really means is that Trump can do okay if the debates are another mess like the CiC Forum, which wasted half the time discussing irrelevant issues then spent the rest looking for brief empty responses and letting Trump blatantly lie about his record without being called out.
That depends on which Trump, and which Clinton shows up.
Will Trump, the rambling idiotic fool show up, or the new, Presidential Trump..
Clinton, the big globalist, or the one thats been fighting for the little people..
