Not looking great for Trump. They are having a conference call and essentially conceding they lost the presidential race. Now, it's about the House and Senate. It's now every man for him or herself. If you are harmed by Trump, denounce him. If you are helped in your district, endorse him. He is showing the convictions of those conservative beliefs. Lol.
But if you are GOP and denounce Trump, why would Trump supporters vote for you?
Some have actual principles, some he has previously insulted and some just don't need Trump supporters. If the Trump candidate lost his/her primary as in AZ and WI, they don't need those supporters to win.

A. Some people care more about how they'll be judged in retrospect, rather than doing the political expedient thing. It takes a degree of courage to stand up and say you won't support the party nomination. Those who did support Trump will likely be remembered as traitors in the coming years.
B. Yes, you lose the Trump voter, but you gain everyone else. There are a lot more people who can't stand Trump than those who love him.

Here in Idaho, the atmosphere is becoming increasingly anti-Trump..Mike Crapo has taken back his endorsement and many are just turned off and looking downballet.
Trump will still win Idaho, of course--since going Democrat is unthinkable here. But people are holding their noses...a lot!

I predict Paul Ryan's career doesn't last much longer. You can fall fast. Just ask Eric Cantor.
Paul Ryan has only slipped below 60% in the general election twice since he first ran in 1998. He has rarely even had a primary challenger, and this last primary he got 83% against the Trump supporter. Cantor's percentages had been slipping every election since 2004. The biggest issue with Eric Cantor was that he wasn't listening to the buzz of his district, local news media editorials and letters to the editor complained about him being an absentee Representative whereas Paul Ryan frequently returns to his district.
You can fall fast but the way he has responded to Trump's candidacy will not be the cause of that in his district, he is currently polling high enough that he can focus on other candidates' races.
