They need a warrant for the specific things contained in that email unrelated to Weiner's investigation. It doesn't give them absolutely freedom to search anything they want in the laptop.
Thats not true at all if he handed over the laptop. its no different than opening the door and allowing police to search your house, with your permission, in your house.. you cant then go and tell them you agreed, but then changed your mind..

Almost any women would have been a better choice. Maybe not experience but for sure on ethics, decency, honesty and integrity!

My first thought is, the woman who deleted the emails so nobody would find them, now demands disclosure after they are discovered?
Hillary, her surrogates, the Leftist Media & the CongressCritters are all "demanding" disclosure on the 10,000 emails found on the Abedine/Weiner Laptop in NY City.
Hillary & Bill are close to Loretta Lynch - TeamObama is out campaigning for Hillary & Loretta is part of that Team. They must KNOW exactly why Comey can't "disclose" what's on those emails.
When Comey got the file - he knew he had to have a warrant to look at the emails - Lynch said NO.
Let's remember please that the Comey investigation was predicated on a National Security Breach. This isn't "politics" - it's about National Security information that is (possibly) contained on a non-secure laptop in Anthony Weiner's possession - 10,000 emails.
The NY City investigation allowed a subpoena and warrant to seize the devices from Weiner - when they looked at this 10,000 email file .... they realized that it involved the National Security investigation in D.C.
None of them had the clearance to read/review the emails - even Director Comey does NOT have the Secret Clearance necessary to review what may be Highly Classified Government Secrets.
Loretta Lynch won't allow the Warrant -- that is very Serious Corruption.
Perhaps this is part of the reason that Comey refused to cover for her & told Congress he had new information. Director Comey testified under OATH to Congress about National Security, he took an OATH of Office to protect National Security - he is obligated to follow both OATH's.

Obama had some experience . Just seems she had so much baggage but the powers that be thought she could be sold and shoved down the throats of the public . They think the average person is stupid and without the internet they would have been able to get away with it .
They might still be able to get away with it , many people already voted before this most recent FBI announcement.
It's just one too many things with Clinton and with the Clintons.
Because investigators already read the emails. I do not believe the officers investigating Weiner saw the emails and stopped reading to immediately hand them to Comey. They were read. Just not by the FBI investigating HRC
They certainly read enough to know they did not have the Security Clearance to read any further.
This is a matter of National Security - that's why the 10,000 emails found on the Abedine/Weiner laptop in NY City were taken to Washington - even Comey doesn't have the Security Clearance high enough to review them.
Loretta Lynch will not allow a Warrant for the Intelligence Community to do the review or for Comey's investigators to read them. This is about National Security or they would not be in Washington - they would still be in NY City, where they DID have a Warrant.
Humagate is on the front page of every major paper and not a whiff of trending in any of the social media. Have the social media owners made the topic disappear and decided to cover for Ms. Clinton, again?
