Small population and, with the exception of a few places, not usually close calls. Kentucky, with the exception of Louisville, is a very reliable state for a Republican presidential candidate. Lexington, the second largest city, is one of the few purple places in the state.
There was almost a 0% chance that Rand Paul was not going to be re-elected.
Interestingly, they tend to vote Democrat locally.
