Ah, no.

I suspect many black voters wrongly assume he is going to be elected President and promote an black agenda with a renewed emphasis on affirmative action and black unemployment.
Ah, again, no. Unless of course you understand that a rising tide lifts all boats.

They also believe he will hire mostly African American candidates into the government.
That's three strikes!

Trouble is that Obama does not match the typical mindset of the African American community.
Oh do tell, what might that "mind set" be?

His family did not come from slavery.
It isn't Black History Month yet, but I will give you a preview. There are quite a few African Americans who are descendants of Freeman.

He has not grown up in poverty.
All African American's grow up in poverty? That will come as news to my family.

He has not experienced the same bad schools and discrimination directed at many African Americans.
I'm shocked that you didn't stick to sweeping generalizations when you included the word "many". Good for you.

God help all those African American military brats!

Maybe he is not Black enough?
Oh, the brother is plenty black enough for black folks.

On the other hand many whites, especially in the south may feel he is to African American to take care of their needs. Maybe he is to Black for these voters.

They got over it.

We won't scream EEOC we let our attorney's do that if an when conditions require it. If you think that because Obama has been elected by 52% of the country that the other 40 whatever percent or even a portion of that 52 have washed away all of their racist tendencies, I beg to differ.

As for I have no opportunities, frankly I know of very few African American's who make that argument, now. But in any economic downturn such as the one we are having now, those opportunities are at a decided shortage.
