I guess this has been known for a long time but has only been brought to the forefront recently:

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/03/06/us...=1&oref=slogin
Quote:
The Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., senior pastor of the popular Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago and spiritual mentor to Senator Barack Obama, thought he knew what he would be doing on Feb. 10, the day of Senator Obama’s presidential announcement.

After all, back in January, Mr. Obama had asked Mr. Wright if he would begin the event by delivering a public invocation.

Quote:
According to the pastor, Mr. Obama then told him, “You can get kind of rough in the sermons, so what we’ve decided is that it’s best for you not to be out there in public.”
This stuff isn't news to Obama. He already knew his pastor was radical and he's just "being another lying politician" when he says he's never heard any of this stuff.

I think its funny how Romney was attacked endlessly for his religious views, but we are JUST now hearing about Obama and his religious views.

I love how, though Barrack Hussein Obama was a member of that church for 20 years, and was married by that whacko pastor, etc., he claims he had no idea what was going on, as if all past sermons were held in a secret cave someplace so that Barrack Hussein Obama wouldn't know what the church's true beliefs were.

It's going to be entertaining to watch Obama try to move past this in the next few days.

Much ado about nothing. It will pass quickly.

From the article:
Mr. Wright helped organize the 1995 Million Man March on Washington and along with other United Church of Christ ministers was one of the first black religious leaders to protest apartheid and welcome gay and lesbian worshippers.

I can appreciate the Rev's better qualities.

In Monday’s interview, Mr. Wright expressed disappointment but no surprise that Mr. Obama might try to play down their connection.

heh
Yes, it is interesting that only now we are hearing about it.
Supposedly, Ms Clinton and Obama are agreeing to cool it.
We shall see.

Well -- before they were trying to make Obama into some kind of Muslim, now it's this.

But what this really is -- Hillary is in danger of losing to Obama so they're going to try to get him anyway they can. Geraldine Ferraro, long time political feminist had to step out of Hillary's campaign in shame from her racist remarks. Now the Clintons are angry and they're going to destroy Obama.

I hope so -- because we all know Bill and Hillary would have eagerly accepted an invitation to show up at that same church by that same minister if it meant a political photo op moment for them.

We all realize there are people in both races who aren't fond of the other.

So if you are a Democrat is it chosing between bad and worse, I would choose for the lesser of the 2 owrse than, or rather vote for a Republican which is smarter.
The perfect person will never be find but Obama....that is so far the worst I have seen in History.
