A lot of this stuff is vague and subjective . Seems like a lot of victim mentality .. not too empowering ..
It’s not a winning mindset .
“We are socialists because we share a vision of a humane social order based on popular control of resources and production, economic planning, equitable distribution, feminism, racial equality, and non-oppressive relationships.”
The media is overplaying this. They thought they were getting a big juicy story if convicted felon Michael Grimm won his GOP primary but he didn't. So this became "the" story that is supposedly driving the narrative. And sure, it's a big deal when an underdog newbie upsets an established incumbent.
But interestingly in my very own district, the exact opposite happened, and my Rep - also a high up leader in the Democratic party and long term incumbent handily defeated her challenger 70 to 30. Yet that's getting zero air time because it's not as interesting. Yet it's actually far more reflective of the truth. Ocasio-Cortez would not have won in most districts and Democrats will lose if those are the only candidates they run. They need to run candidates who reflect the districts they are running in.
Jason Crow has a good chance of a Democratic take over of Mike Coffman's seat in the Denver metro - he's the so called establishment candidate, beating the Sanders-backed candidate 66 to 34. Again, not an interesting enough story for the media to talk about when they'd rather focus on the exception in NY and pretend that is a portent of the entire election.

I agreew with this. House elections strongly reflect their districts, they are extremely local in nature. You need way more than one to call it a "national trend". She spoke directly to what's going on in NYC right now with the rapid mass gentrification and rising cost of living pricing out long time working class residents. It paid off.
That said the democratic mantra this cycle so far has been to run local candidates that reflect ther districts, so media hype notwithstading I don't see them suddenly abandoning centrist democrats around the country.
“The Socialists United of Venezuela and its president Nicolas Maduro continue to run this once relatively prosperous South American oil nation into the ground. People are still starving. Hospitals are short staffed. People of means have moved to Madrid or Miami. People of no means are hightailing it to Colombia and Brazil.”
I'm wondering if the incumbent will run as an independent in the general election,or under another party? Primaries run very thin in turnout, but this general election likely won't. And Crowley has much better name recognition.
Not enough of R's to do that in that district, ala Joe Lieberman v. Ned Lamont in 2006 Connecticut senate race.....!

Not a chance. Within minutes of the race being called, he congratulated and endorsed her. Not to mention serenaded her with a rendition of "Born to Run" that he dedicated to her.
He will be all in to make sure she's elected because she's the Democratic nominee.

Pknopp doesn't really believe that, just trying to divert weakness of Democrats... If Pknopp really believe that than he/she would want nearly all Democrats to lose...
