I'm going to laugh if Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez doesn't win in NY 14. So much press has been devoted to her that we are all led to believe that the general election is not necessary.
It has happened before. In fact it happened to the current rep from NY 14. He assumed he would win and never took care of business back at home.
Apparently Crowley is still in the race....lol.... Cortez is freaking out.... Apparently she doesn't like competition, well all socialists don't so it isn't a real surprise...

It appears Joe Crowley was nominated by an independent party to be it's candidate on the ballot, but Joe says he's not actively running for the position and has no plans to campaign for it.
So his name will be on the ballot. Ocasio won't get an official concession, but she doesn't need one, and as we've all seen recently, a concession doesn't matter much anyway. Since she's a novice, it's natural that she's a big upset by the developments, but she'll get over it pretty fast.
There's always a danger of a spoiled race in an unexpected 3-way election, but if the district is as solid blue as the reports have it, Ocasio will still win; her primary was overwhelming in it's numbers.
At least Crowley won't try to obstruct the election like Alabama's Roy Moore did when he lost. That's good. His name on the ballot allows the voters to decide without a big kerfuffle.
And in the end a win is a win is a win. Do not believe Ocasio doesn't like the competition. If she didn't, she would never have run for office in the first place.
It's come out that Ocasio-Cortez is a big poser. She wasn't raised in the Bronx and isn't the "Bronx hometown girl" as she claims.
She was raised and schooled in Yorktown Heights in Westchester county. This is one of the wealthiest and most exclusive neighborhoods in the entire USA. She didn't change her address back to the Bronx until 19 months ago.
I guess no surprise here. Most of America's most vocal leftists, social justice warriors, socialists and leading Democrats all ride around in limousines.

Ima laugh.
Ima Laugh? Is this a person's name or what? Ima is an old fashioned first name, but never heard of a "Laugh" family.
And whatever happens is NY14 is not a major concern of mine. Congress is full of useful idiots on both sides of the aisle.
If the district is doomed to be D-controlled, why not have a D who is full-blown, self-described socialist? When that happens, it only drives the rest of the electorate further to the right, and prevents Democrats from enacting their agenda.
We had a far-left rep Jim McDermott in Seattle for decades. He was never very effective.
McDermott’s press secretary didn’t respond to an email asking him to outline McDermott’s top achievements and comment on the notion that McDermott was not an effective congressman.
“I think he lost touch with the day-to-day concerns,” local Democratic political consultant Christian Sinderman told me. “Speaking out against the war proved the value of an ideological voice, but are we getting the kind of attention we need from our representative?”
