Being from Ohio and having paid attention to Brown, his voting record, Senate floor speeches, etc., I have to say that if voters did research on candidates as I do I don't believe they'd have re-elected him once again. Very liberal politician.
And then there's this: In a filing to get a restraining order against him Brown's ex-wife Larke Recchie said she was "in fear for the safety and well-being of myself and our children due to (Brown's) physical violence and abusive nature."
Later she sought to keep Sherrod Brown from going further than the curb when picking up their daughters. In an affidavit she said he "intimidated, pushed, shoved and bullied" her on several occasions. In that same filing, ""I am definitely afraid of my husband, that he has struck and bullied me on several different occasions, he has completely destroyed my peace of mind and that I am extremely intimidated by him."
Brown also put his hands around her new boyfriend's neck and started strangling him. By the way, Sherrod & Larke divorced in 1986. Long ago, but this shouldn't be dismissed. Especially during these days of the Me Too movement where people have lost jobs merely on allegations.
Anyone who believes they might want to vote for this lowlife might want to check out his voting record and this article regarding the claims of Sherrod's physical & verbal abuse of his wife/ex-wife.
I think it is possible- and he would be absolute counter programming to Trump since he won a Rust Belt state that is more conservative than Pa, WI or Mi.
If we're simply throwing spitballs at the wind I would say Tester. He won an even more conservative state and would put Arizona into play. Besides- the hair comparison would be for real- dead beaver vs buzz cut...
And if you did your research, you'd know that Brown and his ex wife are on good terms and she even supported his campaign.
Of course I know they are on good terms now. Doesn't change that he abused her physically and mentally. He's a vile human being. I've also paid attention to what he's done and said in the Senate as well. Have absolutely NO R-E-S-P-E-C-T for him. But hey, go ahead and nominate him, he'll get crushed in the general election by Trump. If Democrats want to win they better find someone better than Sherrod Brown.

You do realize that one of Trump's ex wives accused him of mental and physical abuse as well?
And the guy who wants to be the top House republican basically allowed his locker room to turn into a cruising site for older guys to ogle and molest his wrestlers at OSU?
At any rate- I'm all for tossing the abusers from both parties, including any women.
Anything he has done is quite tame compared to the pile of garbage in the White House.
Right. Trump has put down a Gold Star father, a disabled man, a POW, made nasty remarks about women, insulted people about their low IQ's...and so on and so forth. Oh ya, the little problem of cozying up to Putin on the world stage, people connected closely to him going to the slammer...No character flaw or issues of anyone else could compete against his vast history of problems.
