I'm just curious to see initial thoughts on who you would like to see as the democratic nominee?

Polls currently show Joe Biden and Bernie as the top 2, but I'm skeptical personally and think a lot of that is down purely to name recognition. UK Betting odds and websites like Predictit actually have Kamala Harris and Beto O'Rourke as the top 2 at the moment.

Its early days of course, and you may change your opinion, but who are you leaning towards as of now coming into 2019?

I'm putting a poll up based on the top 8 candidates from the predictit market.

Beto is my choice for right now. Biden and Bernie are too old. Warren and a few of the others are too polarizing. Beto is young, he's white, and he's from the South. Exactly the kind of person we need right now as the Dem nominee.

P.S. I don't like bringing race into this but these are very racially tense times and sad to say, I think a white male would have a much better shot at beating Trump than a female or minority.

Beto has to be part of the equation, but many people want him to head the ticket. I love Biden, but we need younger people. Do you realize how tired everyone will be of old white men running things by 2020. Dems have to pick someone who will win.

The Bernie people are going to have to get off of that train as well. Bernie is neither a real Dem or young and he probably will not be the candidate. We are two years away--they will all be two years older.

Could be Beto as VP, but he may go straight for the top office. If Beto keeps gaining supporters at the rate he has been, he could be very popular by then.

And he could go up against Trump--no problem. He's a straight shooter. Trump is a fool. Beto could definitely beat him, and that is if Trump even runs. Many seem to think he will be not be the GOP candidate (but it could be Nikki Haley).

I understand the reasoning that a person of color is needed to guarantee a big turnout, but as long as Donald Trump is on the ticket there will be a large turnout regardless. He wasn’t even on the ballot in 2018, but his political presence led to the largest turnout in an off year election in a century.

What makes you think the party wants to go in a fresh direction? Putting Pellosi back in shows its a new day but the same old same old. This was a great chance to place another senior member in charge and allow the party to start moving in a fresh direction but were back to the same old s**t.

Eh? We've just had a black president who won back to back elections with 300+ electoral college votes.

Sherrod Brown, Mitch Landrieu, Beto.

But let's see who's serious about running in 2020. I like Biden, but he's too old by a decade. Same with Bern.

Warren, Gillibrand, Booker are all exactly what Pubs want on the Dem ticket. They're good in te senate but would give the 2020 election to the GOP.
