He had little name recognition back then, not anymore.

Now where are your statistics that he does worse among minorities vs. whites?

Something I don't hear a lot about is Bernie's days as a shiftless hippie. From what I've heard he did not have a job until about age 40, and his first job was as Mayor of Burlington, VT. It doesn't get a lot of attention now, but if he were to become Dem nominee, I'm sure that would change.

Interesting piece here from the New Republic, written by a woman who says her mother used a broomstick to smack Bernie on his posterior when he was trying to raid their refrigerator.

Default Bernie Sanders is the first choice for everyone

This sums it up nicely:

I want to like Warren but like the article, I just can't seem to. If she wins will I vote for her? At this point its not a "no". We will have to see.

She is getting worse by the day, and she's playing up her establishment credits.

So why didn't he win in 2016?

Not for me.

I greatly admire Bernie Sanders, but last time around I decided that he's too much of an obstinate, idealistic purist for the presidency - and this opinion was strengthened when I found out that he really never got much of anything passed in the Senate. And I think that someone needs to sit him down and talk to him about what comes off of a delusion of a "revolution."

I love him, but not as president. Not Warren, either, for that matter.

This has nothing to do with your assertion that Bernie is "everyone's first choice."

Don't use absolutes unless you can substantiate them.

As for "who else is there," there are 300 million+ people in this country.

There's someone else.
