I was a Hillary Clinton supporter... but switched to Obama in 2008 because of how charismatic he was (i blame my political immaturity).

I dont see that same charisma is harris.

Nope. There will be no more Democratic anointments. The media didn't make them anyway- it was the party.

The media are only crows, giving all their attention to the latest shiny object that appears.

There will be lots of punditry, of course, but all that stuff is nothing but vapor, a way to fill up vacant air time.

I never saw the 'charisma' in Obama. I voted for him twice mainly because of his opponents.

I was originally indifferent to questioning of Harris but after seeing a couple of interviews I do think she can present her case in an election. I find her much more relatable than Hillary, Obama or Gore- who won the popular vote in 4 of the last 5 elections.

Also as much as everyone decries identity politics- they win 9 out of 10 times. Trump was the savior of the white working class in the Midwest, Obama was the new America, Bush was the guy you would meet for a beer (even though he had given up booze and drugs) as well as the first President in my memory to openly identify as born again, and Clinton felt your pain (which was pretty much the differentiator between him and a very Patrician Bush 1 and more stiff/reserved Bob Dole. The winners have typically had a trait that the loser or previous President lacked- Bush being stronger than Dukakis, Clinton relatable (and a Southern/Mississippi River background), Bushes likeability...

I think Harris would appeal to a lot of people turned off by Clinton's decades long pandering as well as the demographics who are most critical of Trump- people of color, suburban women, college educated voters, etc. That would help her a lot in the places that could either win the race or cause Trump a lot of problems. The Phoenix area, metro Atlanta, Wayne County in Michigan, Dane County in Wisconsin, and the Philly/the Philly suburbs. Spiking numbers in those 5 areas alone could flip five states or severely stifle Trumps path since his numbers lag in all those places and four of those 5 sent Democrats to victory back in November.

She's the black, young, Hillary Clinton. She has all of Madame's vices-shrill, angry, patronizing and unlikeable-but none of Madame's strengths-money, experience, gravitas, and an ex-president for a husband.

It's actually physically painful to see and hear Harris.
