I doubt Weld will get any traction. He'd run with any party that will have him.

I place country above party. It may not be a good thing for your party, but it's a good thing if you're an American.

Dont you remember 2016? The gaffes and the slightly crazy talk? Besides, I don't think many on the right want a former governor from Massachusetts to be the president.

They don't. But Dems won't be voting for him, either. But they'll sure be bankrolling his candidacy.

Will Trump debate him? I'd guess not or maybe once.

Might be interesting for Weld to try to debate Democratic candidates one on one in general or on specific policies. They both probably come off as winners in that kind of event.

This another topic that the electorate has been trained like seals. Notice what a posters says" it would be bad for the party and could hurt the incumbent". Forget country it is all about power to the party. Both sides embrace no one running against the incumbent but they try to say they are not alike.

Does this guy even have a campaign? Or is this just more nonsense from Rolling Stone?

He has been an official candidate for a week. He has a website and a video there with some interesting video snippets from Trump at the end. He has plenty of time til the start of voting in February 2020.

In addition to challenging Democratic candidates to debates, he could challenge Republicans that defend Trump or take pot shots at him.

Will Hogan and / or Kasich get in the race? Probably not but there is lots of time to think about it. I'd look over at Romney occasionally to see if he might go for it again.

Well no he doesn't. He's got to have the organization and money to get his name on every ballot in all 50 states. And that has to happen well before actual votes take place.
