Republican State Senator Tom Tiffany defeated Democratic candidate Tricia Zunker in Wisconsin's 7th district, a largely rural area that encompasses much of northern and central Wisconsin.

Tiffany, a businessman and former local elected official, is serving his second term in the Wisconsin State Senate, while Zunker, an attorney, is a judge for the Ho-Chunk Nation and a member of the Wausau School Board.

Tiffany has 58% of the vote with 77% of precincts reporting. He is even winning Marathon County, which has Wausau in it.

Congratulations to Representative Tiffany!

There is a saying about counting your chickens so I'll wait until it's official, but it is looking good. Voters are realizing what a disaster the Demo-erratic party really is.

The bigger news is that the GOP is doing well in the California election for the House seat of former Rep Katie Hill, who resigned in disgrace last year. That district is much closer than WI-7 is and the GOP's Garcia is looking good to pull out a win. The more California locks people down due to covid, the angrier I think the electorate will be, and the more in danger the Dem House majority will be.

By the way, I love seeing how TDS Matt Drudge has become that he can't even take the time of day to post on the win(s)

Let's be real, Democrat or Republican, people from that area weren't going to elect a Ho-Chunk woman. I grew up in the area and I well remember the casual anti-Native sentiment.

Can someone explain the significance of a long term R seat being won by a Republican? This was 21-22 point seat for Trump and Duffy.

Yeah, I'm gonna wait a week on this one. It seems these days every time a Republican is walking away with a victory in Southern California, suddenly a massive wave of Democrat ballots roll into the post office at the last minute.

1. That ain't a landslide.

2. Why is the result shocking? "Tiffany was widely expected to defeat Zunker in this solidly Republican district. "

Harvest those ballots. Good way to game the system.
