McCain would get much needed exposure from a series of debates, since he can't buy much advertising with his small campaign fund. And with the continuing Democratic primary, he hasn't gotten much news coverage in recent weeks. But, to be honest, I don't think Mack will come out looking very good in a face-to-face matchup with Obama. Maybe I'm underestimating him, though.
I hear that they want it to be mostly un-moderated. No stupid flag pin questions, no accusations that one person got better questions than the other. Just the two of them debating each other. That would be refreshing.

Or you could just get Bill O'reily and Alec Baldwin (both known fanatics of their parties) to moderate, and let them ask the policy questions to the opposing party.
Though I think this may hurt obama more than help, since he isn't really the... uhhh..... top of the head speech type of person.

Umm, yes, this would be interesting. It would also be interesting to have the debate moderated by super models. Or by Simon, Paula and Randy. But none of these options have been mentioned. (Yet--but you could always contact the debate sponsors 'cause it sounds like a hi-larious idea!!!)
What has been suggested is having a debate in which the participants discuss their positions, and the moderators play a very minor role, to the point of almost not being there.
The discussions will be very interesting and will be without the press moderating. The historical relationship between McCain, Obama and if he is the VP Joe Lieberman is very interesting with positive overlap.
