It seems odd, as Napoloean ruled Europe for 20 years, defeating nation after nation.

The Germans were defeated in WW1 mostly due to the efforts of the French.

Yet Germany nearly captured Paris in 1914, crushed Serbia and Romania, bled the French Army until it mutinied, drove Russia out of the war, and then came oh-so-close to victory on the Western Front in 1918.

Yeah, thanks to the French who finally folded like a tent to the Germans in 1940.

The guy was a right bastard, but - yes. Heck, centuries of of European history can be defined as England and France taking turns winning wars.

Also true. As Kipling said of the French, "War is their business, and they do their business."

Man, you're all over the place. I'm giving up on trying to figure out what you're talking about.

You're free to guess about whatever you like - no one's stopping you.

91,000 KIA in six weeks of bitter fighting. Partly because no one knew how to fight the Wehrmacht in 1940. You may want to look up how it went barely 3 years later, the first time the US army - forewarned, forearmed and on the ground and time of their choosing - tried their luck against the Germans in North Africa. It was a place called Kasserine Pass and it went - badly.

What is your whining about me again? You lost me like 3 posts ago. The topic is Macron and France, is not about me. Don't try so much, it's very simple to follow.

So your saying the tide turned in WW 2 because of the French army?

Macron got 58% to the opposition 41% in France. What does that has to do with the U.S. or the world?
