Newsweek reports that Democrat Tim Ryan is way ahead of JD Vance in the most recent poll. It’s looking like the trump effect as well as the repeal of roe v wade is gonna result in the republicans giving this senate seat away.

Very suspect poll. There is no way that R v W, or anything else, caused him to drop double digits.

I’m not from Ohio, but I fully expect Vance to win.

Hope Ryan wins - he is sensible while Vance is a grifter.

This poll "finds" twenty-six percent of respondents to be undecided. That is greater than the margin of Representative Ryan, theoretically, winning this race. And, no candidate, in this poll, received at least fifty percent of the vote. Therefore, this is a worthless poll.

I expect Mr. Vance to win, by a margin of around ten percentage points. My prediction is in concordance with FiveThirtyEight's prediction, as well.

Representative Ryan voted for every spending package that has brought us our record inflation rate. How is that sensible?

Not anymore. 538's average now has Ryan up by 2.7 points as I write this:

Republicans shot themselves in the foot with the abortion ruling. When the GOP doesn’t win and loses senate seats like Ohio the blame should be shifted to the conservative justices and trump. They blew it.

I figure the more candidates the GOP runs who are on the record pushing conspiracy theories is probably a good thing for America.

"Sensible" is a branding term that the Democrats are using to market Ryan...not a reflection of his record. He votes like every other Democrat. If you like that, you'll vote for him. If you don't, you won't.
