This is how a minority is able to hang onto power. They wanted to pass a law in Arizona allowing their legislature to throw out any election they decided wasn't "fair." When you can't win with numbers, find ways to cheat or to derail the legal process.

As the GOP shrinks we will see more and more of these attempts to hold onto power. And unfortunately, it will probably work in places like Texas.

There are plenty of ways to subvert and corrupt our election systems at the State level, it's an essential weakness of our Republic. In theory, our Constitution would protect citizens from having their votes stolen from them in the ways you describe above. But with the activist right-wing SCOTUS today, there is no guarantee that they will honor their oath to protect the rights of Americans. No matter what they said during their approval process, it is becoming crystal clear where their loyalty lies.
