If the 2008 Presidential Election was made into a movie, who would be cast in the roles?

Who would play:
Hillary & Bill
Barack & Michelle
John & Cindy McCain
Ron Paul
John Edwards
Huckabee
not to mention the other great characters, Carville, Ferraro, Richardson, etc.

And we need a catchy title too.
Maybe "Romancing the Phone" (reference to the 3 a.m. phone call ad)?

Hillary; Meryl Streep, or Emma Thompson, she's done it before
Bill; Willem Dafoe

Barack; Will Smith, or possilby Chris Rock-seriously
Michelle; Ayesha Tyler, both are beautiful, smart and funny

John McCain; Charlton Heston, dead or alive incapable of admitting a mistake, or Anthony Hopkins, did a great Nixon
Cindy McCain; Joan Allen or Frances Fisher, Sissy Spacek if you want to go for the real life creepiness.

Ron Paul; Alan Rickman or Ben Kingsley

Huckabee; Ray Winstone, and he'd nail it

John Edwards; Ron Eldard, can't really think of who'd be good at this

Carville; not sure why he's on the list, he's a bit "last year", but Billy Bob Thornton

Bill Richardson; Tom Wilkonson or Paul Giammatti

This is going to be an expensive movie. Although could probalby be done with about one month's worth of presidential campaign fundraising.

You're good at this! These are all great choices, especially:

Yes--I can see it! Intelligent, beautiful... but still... there's something creepy in those eyes.

I put Carville on the list mostly because he would be such a fun character in a movie. It would be a minor, but memorable role. Perfect for someone like Anthony Hopkins. Or Billy Bob--yup, I can see that too.

Thanks normie;

I'm a huge movie fan, it's easier than dealing with real life.

Natalyjones; oh yeah, I considered him and Chwitel Ejiofor (sp?) too, but had to reject them both because they're both so doggone handsome!

Same for Denzel. You don't want someone too handsome, you want someone handsome enough. Will Smith is handsome enough and and he can play an intelligent, focused person. Plus, he has the ears. You gotta have the ears.

I'm a huge Boston Legal fan--what kind of bit role can we give William Shatner?

It's too bad John Ritter passed away, he'd be perfect as Edwards.

Shatner could be McCain, he'd be perfect! A. Hopkins, too much gravitas; Charlton Heston, well... he could be young McCain in the flashbacks.

golfgod, that casting is great, you missed your casting, I mean calling.
