How will abortions stop if Roe v Wade is overturned?
They won't stop everywhere, but from my perspective, if you live in one of the more conservative states, or if you are poor, you're going to be put in the position of "proving" that you need that abortion. If you are raped and end up pregnant, you will be compelled to report that rape, compelled to pursue it in court just in order to obtain an abortion. If you are the victim of incest, you will be compelled to have a family member arrested and prosecuted in order to support your case. If you have health problems, you will have to have a doctor sit by your side and testify on your behalf that the abortion is necessary. And even then, it will all come down to a judge, and whether he/she is adamantly opposed to abortions or not.

Poor women who don't have the time or resources to pursue these paths will be forced to have children, either giving them up for abortion by their wealthier counterparts (making them baby machines that are essentially exploited by our society) or raising the babies themselves and adding to the welfare burden.

Because you are capable of having children, because you were born with a uterus, the right to make the most personal decision possible, privately or in consultation with your physician will be denied. Other people's religions will trump your personal right to privacy. And before people start railing that there is no Constitutional provision for privacy, let me ask everyone how they would feel if their medical records became public. If the drugs you take for impotence or hair loss or even to control blood pressure suddenly became a matter of public interest. If you lost your job because your employer found out that you have a serious health issue, or an embarrasing one. How would people like it if the dirty details of divorces or custody proceedings became public? It's difficult to pursue life, liberty and happiness when your privacy has been stripped from you. It's difficult to just get by when you have to defend the most difficult choices to people who don't even know you.
