American Thinker Blog: Obama's Ties To ACORN More Substantial than first believed

Quote:
Not surprisingly it turns out that Reverend Jeremiah Wright and Father Michael Pfleger - two radical clergy closely associated with Obama - have extensive ties to ACORN . Their views fit nicely within the ACORN anti-capitalist agenda that they have been pushing for years.

In fact, Obama’s Acorn connection is far more extensive. In the few stories where Obama’s role as an Acorn “leadership trainer” is noted, or his seats on the boards of foundations that may have supported Acorn are discussed, there is little follow-up. Even these more extensive reports miss many aspects of Obama’s ties to Acorn.
More proof of this guy radical, anti-white connections.

Now being a trainer for ACORN makes Obama anti-white? Your race-baiting is amusing.

If you are a community activist, you have to be active within the community. What is the problem here? Bill Cosby, the conservative's go to guy says, stay straight, get an education, go back to the community and work to help the folks. Think that is exactly what Obama did, so he did good!

If those two dirtbags are involved, you're probably right, san. Surely they can't be the only bigots in the whole place.

I just went and read a little about them, these guys are the biggest race-baiters in the business. Ok, maybe second to Al & Jesse, but close.

Obama is screwed.

"...four workers from Acorn, the liberal activist group that has registered millions of voters, have been indicted by a federal grand jury for submitting false voter registration forms to the Kansas City, Missouri, election board. But hey, who needs voter ID laws?

We wish this were an aberration, but allegations of fraud have tainted Acorn voter drives across the country. Acorn workers have been convicted in Wisconsin and Colorado, and investigations are still under way in Ohio, Tennessee and Pennsylvania."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"...indicted on charges of voter fraud in Kansas City, officials said Wednesday. Investigators said questionable registration forms for new voters were collected by the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, a group that works to improve minority and low-income communities.

The four indicted -- Kwaim A. Stenson, Dale D. Franklin, Stephanie L. Davis and Brian Gardner -- were employed by ACORN as registration recruiters. They were each charged with two counts.

Federal indictments allege the four turned in false voter registration applications. Prosecutors said the indictments are part of a national investigation.ACORN and Project Vote recruit and assign workers to low-income and minority neighborhoods to register people to vote.

The Kansas City Election Board told KMBC they found suspicious forms, such as seven applications from one person and an application for a dead man."There is some motive behind it -- this is not accidental," said Ray James with the Kansas City Election Board."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Largest radical group in America, with 175,000 dues-paying member families, and more than 850 chapters in 70 US cities

Implicated in numerous reports of fraudulent voter registration, vote-rigging, voter intimidation, and vote-for-pay scams during the 2004 election

Maintains close ties to organized labor

"In the late 1960s, ACORN founder Wade Rathke was a NWRO organizer and a protegé of Wiley. Rathke also organized draft resistance for the militant group Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) during the same period."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"King and Pierce County prosecutors filed felony charges today against seven people who allegedly committed the biggest voter-registration fraud in state history.

The defendants, who were paid employees and supervisors of ACORN
, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, concocted the scheme as an easy way to get paid, not as an attempt to influence the outcome of elections, King County Prosecuting Attorney Dan Satterberg said.

"This was an act of vandalism upon the voter rolls of King County," Satterberg said.

In addition to filing criminal charges, Satterberg said state and local officials had signed a five-year agreement with ACORN that requires the organization to beef up its training and procedures for detecting and reporting fraud.

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is the worst case of voter-registration fraud in the history of the state of Washington. There has been nothing comparable to this," state Secretary of State Sam Reed said at a news conference with Satterberg, King County Executive Ron Sims and Acting U.S. Attorney Jeff Sullivan."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"The Supreme Court ruling earlier this week that allows states to require voters to produce photo I.D.s is drawing criticism from voter registration groups, including one that was busted for election fraud in 2006.

ACORN is trying to register one million new voters this year and brands the decision, “One more strike against the basic right to vote … that further disenfranchises people of color and low income Americans.”

But if photo I.D. requirements had been the law in Washington state, the voter fraud scandal involving ACORN in 2006 would never have happened. According to Washington Secretary of State Sam Reed, the incident “was the worst case of election fraud in our state’s history. It was an outrage.”

Two years ago ACORN submitted just over 1,800 new voter registration forms, but there was a problem. The names were made up — all but six of the 1,800 submissions were fakes."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for the links, san. I figured I'd paste in the gist of it for the less click-inclined among us, and those of you who are terrified of Fox News.

The last part I find particularly amusing, especially this quote: “One more strike against the basic right to vote … that further disenfranchises people of color and low income Americans.”

Umm, when did they stop giving photo ID's to low income and/or non-white Americans? Did I miss that story somehow?

Hilarious.

Boy. The more you know about Obama and his "associates" and affiliations, the more I am shocked that the Dem party nominated this guy.

Of course, they are probably counting on their allies and co-conspirators in the MSM to try and hide these "issues".

No I doubt it. It'll be brought to the attention of the mainstream...and unless the connection can be solidified or summed up in a sentence, people wont really care.

The expectation of Washington is that everyone is a liar, regardless of how nicely they are packaged. Most voters will take this into consideration and figure it as "business as usual" as scandal didnt prevent the Clintons from getting elected.

But doesn't that fly in the face of how Obama has packaged himself? As a fresh, new, different kind of politician?

Are you saying what the good Rev has inferred? That Obama will say anything to get elected?

No, not really. Connections to people with shady ethics and business practices has become such a long standing tradition in politics in this country that people dont really focus on it.

When it all comes down to it, people will care more about what each candidate has to offer them...and stuff like ACORN and Keating Five and their respective wives will mean little.
