Default one and done.

One term president.

Honestly. I really have nothing against Obama. But he is caught in a situation that has doomed him. That situation is the failing economy. He can't fix it and to be quite honest either could McCain if he was elected. That said Obama will be blamed for not fixing the problem (which no one in goverment could do anyways.) either way and will probably be voted out 2012. I have a feeling good o'l Mitt Romney might get the nod next time. Of course He not going to be able to fix the problem either. I'm figuring about a decade will pass before we are righted again in terms of the economy.
I think it will be a very interesting (painful) decade.

How about three terms instead?

1. Corporatist:

On the signature issues of the day (trade, control of business), Obama squarely shows he favors the money interets over the people. He ran in opposition to the way he's governing.

2. Crooked Politician:

Corporate tv (MSNBC) is trying to cover the current depression (in a way which fits its parent, GE's bottom line, of course.) and is using Elkhart, Ind., as the posterchild.
When questioning local workers in a bar about Obama's about-face on economic issues, the feeling was summed-up in the term, "Slippery Politician.", for his strategy of keeping NAFTA, etc, plus his treatment of auto workers vs bank executives. While these are slippery political ploys, they are also crooked political ploys, as he ran as a progressive, and those moves are exact opposite of what a progressive would do.

3. Damn Fool:

First, Barack Obama is a very intelligent man. But then so were Herbert Hoover, and Jimmy Carter- both absolute failures as Presidents.

Obama's main problem is his lack of understanding of how dire the economic situation he inhereted is, and his failure to utilize liberal strategies to combat it.

Case in point is the stimulus. Even centerists like Krugman knew it was too small by at least 2/3s to do the job. Then there's the allowing the auto industry to offshore (a function of his ignoring the crazy policy of "free trade", actually laissez-faire economics, which caused the 30's Depression).
This is the textbook of what a fool would do. Contrast this with Germany, in which 20% of workers are employed by the domestic auto industry, and whose economy, though in the tank, is not nearly as in the tank as we are, with our incredible deficts (balance of trade being the killer), and 20% unemployment (when calculated the real way,as to account for everyone, as we did from 1932-1979.).

And this all shows in that Obama's negatives on the economy have risen by 12 points (30 vs 42) in the past 2 months. Now on the downslide, he will be forced to go back to Congress to ask for yet another, larger, stimulus if he wants to truly save his presidency. Sound plausable to you? Think the GOP (via our media which is in the bag for them) will score points on that?

Does a member of the ursus genus defacate in sylvan environments?

All because, Obama, who now acknowledges his forecasts we're, "Too rosy", did not understand.

And the truth is, he did not understand because he is at heart a conservative with a pro-business/upper class prejudice.

Bait and switch never leaves happy customers, as he's now finding out.
