Yes, and the term "Arab" is, both in East Africa and other places, a cultural distinction, not a religious or racial one. A Kenyan who is identified as Arab is simply a person whose family follows a culture that is influenced by Islam and Arab culture. It has nothing to do with ethnic identity or racial identity, especially since Arabs come in all races. And it does not mean the person is a Muslim, just as Obama's mom may not necessarily be Christian just because her skin is white and her name of European origin. As well, Barack Obama's father is a black African person who may or may not have been identified in a Kenyan sense as Arab. That does not make him a Muslim, and that does not mean he is not a black African man.

Yes, I would vote for any AMERICAN for president as long as he or she stood for those things that I believe in and find important.

As to the question, I'll be the first to answer it honesty and asnwer it for many here who are lairs. No, I would not. I studied Islam in school as the major part of my thesis. Sorry, but our beliefs and their beliefs clash on all fronts. A true, dedicated Muslim cannot conform to our society. To do so, is against their core beliefs.
That being said, I respect their religion and their right to practice it. As long as it remains peaceful. Just not as President of the United States of America.

He calls himself African American but he is half white and was raised by his white mother (Kenyan Dad left them) and his white grandparents. I know several people who are half Asian (a lot of war babies) and they do not call themselves, Asian American. They call themselves Americans.....even though they obviously look Asian!!! Are you truly an Afican American (or black) is you are only half? Tiger Woods is one quarter white, asian, indian, and black. He looks a little Asian and he looks a little black - does he call himself an Asian -Afican -American because he looks like those nationalities...NO!
I think it is sad that so many people in the African American community are backing Obama only because his skin is the same as theirs. I am not voting for McCain because he is white!! Obama has no experience, no real love for his country, cannot really relate to the common person (but maybe his Columbia and Harvard Degrees are middle class) and he has too many shady friends - some in prison! If Obama is elected our taxes will go up, we will turn into a socialist country and the economy will go down the toilet. Put Colin Powell or Condi Rice in the White House and we would be in much better shape!!! I would vote for them in a heartbeat!!!
In these turbulent times with the Arab nations, I would have to know everything about the candidates background if they were of that decent. I support the war and respect all of the people fighting every day over there. Liberals refuse to understand (they think they are back in the 60s) the war made Iraq a better place for Iraqi people, it destroyed a Tyrant, and it made the world realize we will not tolerate terrorism.

This is not true. I live in Memphis, TN and 99% of the black population here is voting for Obama. They have asked people why and most of them say they just want to see a black person finally take over the White House. Who is the racist there?
Have you not watch FoxNews, even the liberal MSNBC, where they have asked people who they are voting for... and if they said Obama then they asked why. Most of these people said because he wants "change." Then they asked what has Obama accomplished that makes him qualified to be President. NO ONE knew enough about him and they could not answer the question. They just celebrate they have made history with a black candidate. Many Dems cannot stop long enough to look at the big picture and ask the important questions....all they see is a charming black man.

Have you ever noticed that most people who are a mix of African American and white identify themselves as African American? For whatever the reason, that IS the norm. Don't make it out like it's particular to Obama.
