I doubt it. obama made a statement I heard from a redneck at a gas station 15 years ago, and acted like the prophet again. you mean having flat tires means I will get crappy mileage? no!

Nooooooooooooooooooo they won't. Bush one used the same tire pressure campaign in 1990. This is so hilarious and totally cool.
THE MEDIA BUSINESS: ADVERTISING; Crisis Spurs Campaign To Save Oil - New York Times
IN response to the crisis in the Middle East, the Federal Government began a yearlong public service campaign yesterday that urges Americans to ''Do Your Part, Drive Smart.''

Read the whole article, this is a Obamatron dream come true.

All those jeering at Obama are bright enough to realize you get better gas mileage with properly inflated tires and a well running car. The joke is Barry thinking this will save more gas that off-shore drilling can produce and his followers thinking he just cured us from foreign oil dependency. This issue is along the same mentality that a handshake with a Hamas leader is all that's needed to solve all issues and bring peace.

Barry's new campaign motto "Simple ideas for simple minds."

I just ordered my Obamahead bobbin head tire gauge and my Obamathunk tune up for winter.

Thanks Obama for helping us, so as of today you are for oil drilling to save us money or are you against it to save the planet like your boss Nancy?

Wal Mart has just sold out of tire gauges, his idea is one of the best things to ever happen to us.

It is the best decision he has made so far.

He is a leader... fill up those tires folks.

With his plans we all might be walking soon.

? No one thinks that. Why can't you just admit it's a sensible idea, even if the hated, feared Barry Obama mentioned it?

? No one thinks that either.

"The best estimate available, by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, is that at least a quarter of drivers are cruising around on under-inflated tires. In April, the Rubber Manufacturers Association, the Auto Club, the California Highway Patrol and Yokohama Tire Company used those statistics, along with Department of Transportation and Automobile Association of America data, to extrapolate that 2.8-billion gallons of gas are lost every year due to under-inflation of tires.

That’s an estimate, to be sure, and not one from a published, peer-reviewed study. But remember, Obama said we “could” save all the oil available from offshore drilling in the protected areas — not we “would” — so if the claim is merely plausible he’s on solid ground.
...
So how much oil is available offshore? According to the latest assessment from the Minerals Management Service, the mean estimate of undiscovered technically recoverable crude oil in the Outer Continental Shelf areas that are currently under moratorium is about 18-billion barrels (see here (http://www.mms.gov/revaldiv/PDFs/OilandGasResources0507.pdf - broken link).)

But it couldn’t all be extracted immediately. The agency estimates that if the moratorium were lifted production could start by 2017, and by 2030, oil companies could be producing 2.4-million barrels of oil instead of 2.2-million. That’s 200,000 more barrels per day.

After refining, a barrel of oil can produce up to 19.5 gallons of gasoline, according to the U.S. Department of Energy. So that’s 3.9-million more gallons of gasoline per day, or 1.4-billion gallons of gasoline per year.

PolitiFact | Not overinflated (though it sounds like it)

But the salient point is that such measures are serious. Why the Republicans are mocking them at a time of energy crisis seems bizarre. Political Punch"

I am going out and check my tires right now, because Obama says so.

Why didn't he think of this before? You mean he knew this all along and didnt share it with us? He was holding back wasnt he?

If Obama would retime all of the traffic lights we could even save more. And when you do get caught at a traffic light, jump out and check your tires. And in no time at all you will no longer be buying any gas.

Makes one wonder if dems feel the gas jockey at Sunoco might be more qualified to define our energy policy than Obama is.
