How does Feminism play into the election?

I think it's been split between Obama and McCain now because of Palin - some feminists know that Obama is very pro-women's rights, while others would like to see a successful woman be VP and possibly President later, even if it's someone as conservative and anti-women's rights as Palin.

The gender angle that existed with Hillary exists now again with Palin - how will this turn out in the end?
