His people must have rightly reminded him to link McCain to Bush. In this home stretch, Obama needs to drive home the point. Meanwhile, McCain will keep on calling himself a Maverick and that will make some unhappy.

No, you may "get it", but plenty of people don't. As to people not being stupid, well, how many people fell for that "compassionate conservative" crap from Bush?

Obama needs to keep stressing it - he needs to show that a McCain administration, although different from the Bush administration in several ways, would be exactly the same in many others ... especially economic. McCain, like Bush, loves big business, and the middle class would continue to get screwed if McCain is elected.

It is annoying how the candidates fixate on key points and phrases. I'm tired of hearing about "Wall street vs. Main Street". And I'm really tired of McCain's POW stories and how he uses the word "maverick" constantly.

By this point in the election process, any of us who have been paying close attention start to burn out I think. We have heard all the candidates' slogans and they are not readily willing to put their neck out any further by offering anything new. If McCain's decline continues, he may try one last hail Mary, but Obama is doing well and will probably stay with the same script.

However, there are a lot of people who really are just tuning in now as Nov. draws near. What has become old hat to us is new to them.

I just tried to watch Face the Nation that he was on and when I clicked it on he was already saying the phrases above.

HEY OBAMA-We get it! You think McCain is the same as Bush. I mean what is the deal with this, it is soooo annoying! I guess he is trying to make sure to win all the people that don't like Bush? LIGHTBULB...most Americans don't like Bush....so I guess his brillant plan is to relate McCain to Bush to win votes? you call that change? thats been done all throughout time..typical politician....over and over....works/doesn't works...

We don't think you do, otherwise you would be shouting it also to help prevent another four years of Bush/Cheney and Rove.

Do you expect him to talk about his accomplishments? Bush is the only weapon he has to use. I am ready for the whole process to be finished as neither candidate is actually talking about anything and the general public gives them too much credit as one small part of a very large machine. Until we strip away the layers of our bloated beaurocracy and get back to the founding pricinipal of a Federal Republic we will continue down this ruinous road. Neither candidate can or will bring any meaningful change. It is all about playing favoritism and pandering to voter blocks. If Bush did not go into a Iraq, Obama would not even be known. He is a reflexive candidate. Bush, of course, would still be vehemently hated by the left as those seeds were planted on day one. It would not of mattered how good of a President he was, he was doomed from the start by the incessant slander. If Obama wins, it is akin to a parent giving in to the whining kid just to shut them up. Unfortunately it teaches the kid that whining is the way to spoils.
After this election cycle, bailouts, and fever pitched bickering between the two parties I am seriously considering giving them both the finger and joining the Constitutionalists or Libertarians.
