"I have a degree in journalism also, so it surprises me that so much has changed since I received my education in journalistic ethics all those years ago," Palin said in response to a question from Hewitt about alleged gotcha questions being asked of her by ABC's Charlie Gibson and CBS's Katie Couric.
She added:
"I'm going to take those shots and those pop quizzes and just say that's okay, those are good testing grounds. And they can continue on in that mode. That's good. That makes somebody work even harder. It makes somebody be even clearer and more articulate in their positions. So really I don't fight it. I invite it." Source
Hmm...this is getting Interesting...Calling Katie (who knew she'd be the hottest interviewer of this cycle?)
Not a smart move on her part. You don't want to start squabbling with the media like this a month before the election. You'd think a former tv reporter would know better. Although I give her credit for her final words, shows a little feistiness. Hope she lives up it.
I still don't understand how she feels some of the questions are "gotchas" okay the one about the newspaper - i feel that one might have been asked because they suspected she wouldn't be able to provide one but the one about McCain's 26 years in Congress was not a "gotcha". She's running with him - she should have been able to list several when asked. Does she realize how bad it makes him look when not even his running mate can say what contributions he's made?
Well if she considers the question about what she reads to be a pop quiz, we are in trouble! Wouldn't you have just said, oh you know the WSJ, the NYT, Alaska's major papers! Or perhaps, I admit, I spend my time watching CSPAN and FOX, because my schedule was so tight.

Surely you jest!
If she even breathed the wrong publication you guys would be jumping up and down...and God forbid she mentions Fox News.
LOL
I must have read a dozen posts today that say "If she'd have just said something". If she said something or nothing the same rhetoric on her response or lack thereof would be going on here.
Anyone know if Obama and Biden have been asked what they read?

They don't have to be asked what they read, their intelligence speaks for itself. Palin, not so much.
Straight out of the Rove playbook. Attack the media to deflect from your weaknesses.
I don't think Rove would recommend this particular move. He's a smart man.
It isn't a bright ploy to start bragging about a BS in journalism from Idaho University (a school that doesn't even have a highly rated journalism program). That's not exactly something to brag about, and acting superior like that only ticks off the press and feeds the late night comics.
