Turns out John McCain has a CONVICTED FELON buddy, who is potentially MUCH MORE damaging to him the Ayers is to Obama.
McCain has allowed G. GORDON LIDDY, (convicted felon, served 4 1/2 years) to host fundraisers for him (no Barbara Streisand fans at that get-together), appeared on Liddy's radio program and constantly refers to him as a FRIEND.
Yet here is McCain's rationale for why it's OK to praise Liddy: "Liddy was following the President's (Nixon) orders, therefor it's OK."
Funny how conservatives overlook the following when spouting this line.
1. Nixon always denied giving the order.
2. Nixon was an "honorable" man, who was hounded out of office by, (a) the press, or (b) Democrats, or (c) liberal Republicans (who, although they didn't "hound" him, nor did anyone else realized that laws had probably been broken).
3. Liddy's defense, "I vas chust following orders", is totally discredited.
So, when is the MSM going to bring this up. Other than the footnotes in the NYT in FOUR or the EIGHTEEN articles they've done about the Obama-Ayers "connection".
Notorious Watergate burglar G. Gordon Liddy is a McCain supporter. In fact, Liddy, who at one time plotted to murder a journalist, has been donating money to McCain for the past decade. Liddy calls McCain “a good, personal friend“. McCain has appeared on Liddy’s radio show. and McCain’s website provides call-in info to Liddy’s show, asking supporters to contact the ex-con.
Liddy didn’t exactly turn squeaky clean when he emerged from prison. In the mid-1990s, he instructed listeners about the best way to kill federal agents, Liddy has also bizarrely suggested that the Watergate break-in had something to do with a mythical call-girl ring run out of Democratic National Committee headquarters. Not exactly a reformed or repentant man.
