She says she saw no connection to stereotypes.
She just picked these items out of the blue?

It seems like some people are really letting their true colors show on how they feel about black people.
These are not the stereotypical backwoods redneck or country bumpkin, these are supposed to be the upstanding, educated folks.

Could she really be this naive or is that a defense against her prejudice.

I'll be happy when we can all vote and get this thing over with.

You just don't understand...

That isn't racist. It's just country club humor.

It's amazing how people just don't think before putting stuff out there. I am not just talking about this but advertising companies, large corporations etc. Some of this stuff seems so obvious but people with power and supposed intelligence make decisions like this all of the time. Here is where common sense would have won out over book smarts.

Hey, come on now!

CEOs and top executives can't be expected to relate to commoners, after all. What do you think this is, a meritocracy or something?

I completely agree that this election is bringing out the worst in people. We're seeing just how alive and well racism is in this country. And apparently (or perhaps she's just claiming this) they don't even KNOW they're being racist when they behave this way!!
Unbelievable.

Yes lipstick on a pig is at the same level as a racist stereotype about a race of people.

I'm sorry but any adult American who says they haven't heard of the reference to black people and watermelon/friend chicken is either socially retarded or lying through their teeth.
