LDS church members do believe in Jesus and that "he died for our sins". For crying out loud, the name of of their church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Somebody should've forwarded that memo to the McCain campaign whizzes.
On topic....The Houston Chronicle endorses Obama/Biden. It mentions that Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison would've made the choice more difficult had McCain picked her instead of Palin.
I was not big on the Palin choice but using it as a reason to endorse Obama instead of McCain is really a weak excuse.

If you find Obama better suited to be president/CIC than Palin who would be VP for a 72-year-old with a history of health problems and, on his own, has shown questionable judgement in the way he's run his campaign - why is that a weak excuse?

Its not a matter of assumption that they will endorse a Democrat.
On that note, the Chicago Tribune is endorsing a Dem presidential candidate for the first time ever. I think it's been mentioned already, but it bears repeating. The idea that all newspapers are joined at the brain is ridiculous. (Unless you're talking about the business end of the operation.)
The Idaho Statesman has endorsed Obama. Utah and Idaho newspapers have now come out for Obama, two states that are Republican strongholds.

The Statesman editorial board endorses Obama in the 2008 presidential election.
This is not an obvious choice for a newspaper in a historically Republican state. Nor was it a unanimous choice. But we have to think about what's best for our nation, which is facing challenging and confusing times that call for even-tempered, clear-minded leadership. When the partisanship of this election finally subsidies, Obama is the man who can reach reasoned conclusions, reach across the political divides, and reach out to the common American. . .

What???? The Idaho Statesman? Even though Sarah was a journalism student at the University of Idaho, and her fellow grads are now working there?
That is a surprise!
