In the past I have voted Libertarian whenever I could. When there is no Libertarian candidate I would vote republican for political offices and democrat for judges. My reasoning is that generally I like republican ideology but when they screw up then the democrat judges will overturn/reverse their stupidity. Lately, I have been wondering if I should reverse my trend. What do you think? Should I reverse my usual voting trend?
You're theory doesn't quite add up unless I'm not understanding it right.
On the federal level, we don't vote for judges, they are appointed. Same goes for Supreme Court.
So do you mean that you vote for one party for the Executive Branch (President) and another party for the Legislative Branch (Congress)? Or are you talking about your vote on a more local level such as city or county where you may indeed vote for judges?
Personally, my ideal government would be a House and Senate controlled by Democrats and a Republican-Controlled presidency. My logic is that all taxing bills must originate in the house and I'm in the middle-class. While the Republican president can nominate judges and veto more socially liberal proposals that I'm against.
i dont think a hard and fast voting "theory" is the best idea. you should look at the candidates and find out which one matches with your beliefs the best.
Hi Trevor92. Even though you hear a lot of squawking about what happens in DC, most politics and the ones that generally effect you the most are local. I think we need to go back to a part time congress who only meet when something important needs to be decided. They have too much time and money on their hands. Of course they set it up that way and we let them.
