Ten billion A MONTH to fight a war for oil that we didn't get!
Again, does anyone want to debate this issue I brought up, or just detract from it in typical liberal fashion so as to avoid the original topic that I actually wanted to debate??
If you want to debate the war in Iraq and it's cost, that is great, there are 1500 threads started in which to do so.
So now, back to the topic, which candidate is going to solve the illegal immigrant issue? It's one of many that is costing you, me and every other taxpayer billions a year. Who's going to tackle it??

Obama will do a better job of solving this. Both candidates want to give amnesty to illegals already here who are working and staying out of trouble- a position which I support too - but Obama wants to impose harsh new penalties against employers of illegals in the future and McCain is opposed to penalizing people who hire illegals and thinks a better fence will keep them at bay.
The fact is that it is JOBS that are attracting them here and if we cut off the jobs, 95% of them will not be coming here. In fact, because the construction industry jobs have dried up, there are far fewer of them sneaking in this year. So Obama has the better plan.

Sadly, I fear neither of them will solve it, if by solving it you mean reach a fair and equitable solution for all concerned, because IMO that's no longer possible. Which would be most likely to TRY to do anything about it? Frankly, whichever one is less concerned about getting a second term. That's probably McCain. However, I'm so against that particular ticket that I'd be willing to sacrifice the immigration problem for the next 4 years on the altar of keeping McPalin out of the White House. Why? Because I honestly doubt that ANYTHING substantive WHATEVER will be done about the illegal immigration issue between now and the 2012 election anyway. It'll just continue as status quo (which I agree is sickening) no matter which candidate wins. But the next administration will be too caught up in the triple bogeys of the economy, Iraq, and other new Middle Eastern political situations to be able to give it a second thought. Immigration will become the "poor orphan relation" until the others are sorted out and brought under control. Sad but IMO will be true.
Sadly, I fear you're right. There is no mortal who ever lived who could solve this mess, not even King Solomon himself.
Illegal immigration, however, will become less and less an issue as there are fewer and fewer jobs to be had. There won't be enough work for native born citizens, never mind illegals.

Everything I've seen so for on this has amounted to lip service, from both candidates.
