If Obama wins he'll have to decorate the White House in his own unique style.

I heard a commentator on the radio here in Spain saying that the difference between the two candidates and generally the two parties is that the Democrats and Obama tend to offer a more subtle and intellectual approach where voters are invited to think things and issue through and are challenged to think outside the box.

The Repubblicans on the other way offer the simplistic, black or white answer. Mediocrity goes with it.

If that is true than it means that the result of the election will depend on how many Americans are prepared to use their brains and how many prefer the easy pre-packed answer to problems.

I am amazed that after 8 years of Bush anybody would even consider voting Repubblican again.

What does that even mean?

It is disturbing to know that I am smarter than the current Pres.

I've been unemployed and uninsured since I lost my job and my whole profession in June. Prior to that over the last 8 years I've watch my salary and health benefits shrink.

I'm 58 years old, I have no credit cards, my debt consists of a modest fixed rate mortgage and a mound of debt from health issues that my crappy insurance didn't cover.

I've already voted so, I'm sitting on pins and needles in hopes that the future will look bright.
Sounds to me like you would vote for a "Communist" if the price were right...

> Seriously: Do you really want another "average" or below President?

No. That is why I am not voting for McCain/Palin.

No one at this time knows if Obama will be a great, good, or mediocre President. All we know is he was a candidate who led in a election where the approval rate of the sitting President was low double digits during a tanking economy. He happened to be the guy who benefitted from these external factors. Kind of amazing that McCain has kept it so close with everything against him.

Time will tell how "good" a President he turns out to be.

Its a little late now to ask if we want another substandard president. We'll get one no matter what. Unless a miracle occurs and a third party candidate wins.

This country is in its worst shape in years and you don't want changes?? The OP said nothing about hip and cool, they spoke of intellect..

Do you think Palin has the intellect to be President when she can't even identify a prank caller and she is taking financial advice from a "Plumber"? This belief that Obama will "radically" change this country is silly..He will make change but the change we need. This is 2008 and world is passing us by..We all know McCain has no new ideas and we ALL KNOW PALIN DOESN'T HAVE A CLUE.

Just because Obama is Harvard educated doesnt mean he will be a great president. I'm afraid he is one of these dreamers who thinks lofty thoughts but lacks the skills to implement them. We need a doer, not just a thinker.

Small businesses are the backbone of this country and Obama has no experience running one, planning a budget, managing workers, etc. I'm afraid his overblown experience as a community organizer just doesnt translate into the depth needed to be the leader of the free world.
