I thought the same thing. I think it's great that the kids are going to have a grandparent with them in their new home. They have lived all their lives in Chicago and have many changes coming. I'm sure having their grandmother with them will make the adjustment easier on everyone.

Don't mind teatime, Guero. She probably doesn't know any better. Judging from her attitude on this forum, it's no wonder she *thinks* everyone has tension with their in-laws. I'm sure her in-laws can attest to tension they undoubtedly feel when they're around her. She doesn't seem to understand that most sane, happy people actually have no problem getting along with their in-laws.
Furthermore, I'm sure with everything going on right now, Obama's concerned that his mother in law will be living nearby.
My money is on concerned she'll be safe. With racist idiots out there who would love to take him down, what better way to do it than to kidnap his MIL and make headline news. I can see it now.
I think it's great that Michelle's mom is going to move in with them. See, here's the thing, they don't want to hire strangers to take care of Melia & Sasha when Michelle has official first lady duties. How about that??? Gasp!!! A family taking care of their own.
