Where do you get this stuff? I never mentioned who I personally think of when I say or hear the word God. Nor did I ever say (or ever will) say that my God is the only God. The issue is the 'swearing' of 'allegiance' to a 'higher power' is what I am stating, and it is a fact. Your thinly veiled attempt to somehow excuse Slick Wily from adultery by not knowing who his 'God' is or by not knowing what was said in his marriage vows is sad. It just proves that a 'yellow dog' democrat will defend any action by an elected democrat, no matter what 'logic' is needed.

I don't know what congressman it was - but he swore to 'his' God to perform his duties. Period. Be it on a Koran, Christian Bible, or any piece of paper that represents the teachings of a higher power.

And I'm sure if his religion forbids having sex with another woman while married, and he does that, he will be 'sinning' in the eyes of his God.

Thanks - didn't know that. I will no longer be listening. I was running out of patience trying to keep him focused on the issue anyway.

Huh -- and here I thought it was your comment about a "higher moral compass" with regards to parking tickets that got the discussion off the issue...

No - the comment was in reference to Mr. Obama's lack of character for shirking his responsibility in not paying the parking tickets. When you don't pay one (two, three) the excuse could be made (rationalized) that you forgot, they got lost, etc. But when you get 17 and blow them off it is a pretty good indication of your lack of moral character.

Huh, again. What it actually sounded like was a brag on how perfect you are.

If it is 'bragging' to say that I pay the debts I am responsible for, then yes, I am bragging.

I also don't steal music by downloading it 'free' from the internet, copy my friends dvd's, or use pirated software and try to rationalize my breaking the law by saying 'it's because the software is so expensive', or 'everyone is doing it', or 'I'm just a poor college student with no money'.

It's amazing how in our society today doing the right thing is ridiculed and shirking on ones obligiations is accepted.

Thanks to the 'ME' generation - "an excuse for everything and everything excused".

It explains the current state of affairs very nicely.

I just want a president I can respect and look up to and someone that doesn't pay his debts is not someone I would want for my president. It is the small things that are the most telling.

That's so funny- waiting to hear it on Leno.

17 parking tickets- OMG......!

Thank you for putting it all in perspective for me. 17 PARKING TICKETS while a college student. That it the litmus test I will use when making my choice for the next leader of the greatest country of the free world.

Thank you so much for helping me to be a better American.
