I think pledging to serve Obama is the same road some of those Department of Justice people went down during this last administration. Their oath was to the people of the United States, and to the Constitution and laws of this country. But they confused that with allegiance to the President.

It's one thing to honor the President of the United States, but my loyalty is to the nation of the United States. If it serves the nation I will obey and comply with the will of the President, but I will not do so blindly and unquestioningly.

I'll support him as long as I can see that he is trying to do what is best for the nation and not what is best for special interest groups. So far, I have some confidence in him, but my inner cynic is always waiting.

Let's see how well the "hard left" handles the same problems (they haven't gone away you know). Truman looked much better from a few years distance. Lincoln was the most hated president in history.

I pray for our nation and societies sake that Obama fights as good a fight as he talks. We'll see soon enough.
