Does a presidential candidate really have much say in economics? I've always thought of a president as being kind of this organizer or sorts. S/he finds people better qualified than himself or herself to deal with those sorts of issues. Hypothetically, I don't think I'd want a president who would think he was an authority on all things dealing with his position. It sounds, to me, like that kind of person would be very stubborn... And when real problems arise, maybe that isn't the sort of person we ought to be listening to.
