Watch out for any Rep. Governors who are up for reelection in 2010 but do not run again for Governor of their state! They left their state in an imploding state of ruins but don't want to be around to be associated with the havoc they wracked. They could care less about their state! Their ambitions are political so they bail out in an attempt to protect their reputation.

Crist has acknowledged in recent months that it's "no fun" being governor at a time when state revenues are collapsing. Given state economists' predictions that revenues won't climb back to 2007 levels for at least another 2-3 years, it's widely assumed in Tallahassee that Crist will opt to run for the Senate rather than a second four-year term as governor.

Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R-MN) won't run for re-election in 2010, a signal that the Republican governor, who has acquired a national profile in recent years, is thinking about a 2012 presidential bid

But his "my-way-or-the-highway" stance on tax hikes may diminish his standing by the end of his term.
57% of Minnesotans say they'd be open to someone else as governor, a sign that Pawlenty, although still personally liked by the voters, has worn out his welcome.

I would also watch out for the Dem Gov's doing the same thing or and democrat legislator from CA who has aided and abbeded the ruination of a beautiful state. Many of the policies mandated by the FEDERAL gov have helped the decline of these states.

We will have to "watch" for them. Maybe the R.Gov's are just sick of the liberal policies that have them in a corner. If I recall, the state of AK was in a dismal state when Bill decided to run for Pres. They were 50th in education. So the watching begins.

Pawlenty strikes me as one of those rare political figures in the GOP that might been smart enough to launch a challenge in 2012 but the GOP likes to keep that TENT small so perhaps they'll bail on Pawlenty and throw their support behind Palin or Nitwit, oh, I mean Newt.....C'mon, GOP please give us Palin in 2012?!?!

Nothing official yet, but watch for Deval Patrick (Gov., D, MA) to take a Federal job rather than go for re-election in 2010...

Don't forget Sanford.

He's a male Palin.

The perfect candidate for 2012.

I wouldn't count on this just yet.. What happens in the 2010 midterm elections will be an indicator of how much political capital Obama has AND if Unemployment goes down and if the stimulus DOES IN FACT create jobs.. If the stimulus fails and the administration continues to "talk up" the economy meanwhile Millions of Americans are still out of work, then this could be detrimental to Obama and there MAY be a "Republican Revolution Part II" in 2010.. Remember after the 2004 Elections many were writing off the Democratic Party as a "dead party"..
