Of course she is going to run. She quit her post so she could have more time to be in the public eye, making ridiculous statements and making the rounds to conservative talk shows, news stations and publications (although she probably doesn't know the name of any of them).

She is an opportunist and right now she is riding the waves of opportunity that are still out there from running last year. May as well make some money right? Everything with her is about her. Not famiy, not country just her.

I think after her little OPED piece in the Washington Post yesterday, we can definitely say she is going to run. Her big problem, though, other having almost no appeal beyond her rabid but ignorant base, is going to be money.

News stories are touting the fact that her PAC has raised just over $700K (for you Palin supports, K=$1000). Mitt Romney, on the other hand, has raised over $1.6 million so far. (again, for you Palin supporters, that's more than twice as much as she's got. I know. Math Make Head Hurt. Must Fill Void With Incessant Jabbering From Rush Limbough)

The fact is the top 10 contributers to the Republican Party are usually the same as the the top 10 contributers to the Democratic Party, and these guys are only going to put their money on a clear winner whom they know will benefit them while in office. Palin is so unpredictable, I don't think these guys would even know how she would behave in office and therefore she provides no certain benefit to them. That's why her stepping down was such a stupid, stupid move. Major contributors will not spend millions and millions on dollars on someone who has a tendency to walk away from office half-way through the job.

I don't doubt that she has the notion of running for--and winning--the Presidency. Her method of going about it passes understanding...but I think all that talk about Palin as the "shining star of the Republican Party" went straight to her head, and she's not getting rid of it any time soon.

Who exactly is going to stand a chance against Palin in the primaries? Huckabee is a dried up has been. Romney has a better chance but who knows if he'll even run. I'd say most of the top running 08 candidates are out now.
