Hawaii Poll: Djou leads Democratic rivals in congressional race (voters, thought, Republican)

What a sweet, delicious win this would be.

I really don't know why two dems are in the race, which is splitting the dem vote.

A Republican candidate appears ahead in a May 22 special election to fill the Hawaii seat resigned by Rep. Neil Abercrombie (D).

36 percent of voters in Hawaii's First Congressional District said they would support Honolulu Councilor Charles Djou (R) in the election this month, a plurality of votes in the race.

In the three-way race with Djou, 28 percent said they would support Case, while 22 percent back Hanabusa.

djou looks like a decent enough fellow, however he runs his ads without mention that he is republican. ed case has to overcome being thought poorly of for a race a few years years back where he ran against sen. akaka using his age against him. it did not sit well with the voters as sen. akaka is very well liked. hanabusu hopes case and djou votes will cancel each other out. she seems to think she can raise more money than case. we shall see how it shakes out

I know the unions support one of the dems and the DNCC supports the other.
