What happened to the Purina Plant in Albany? (Eugene, Corvallis: to live in, versus)

We used to live in Corvallis back in the 90's and whenever we were nearing Albany we could smell the Pet Food plant, I'm pretty sure it was owned by Ralston Purina and it smelled god-awful, can someone in the area confirm that, and know what happened to it and if there are any air quality concern in Linn County at present?

I always thought the smell was from the Weyerhaeuser paper mill in Millersburg. It's gone now. For many it was the smell of money and job security.

The definition of odor is "a property of a thing that effects, stimulates or is perceived by the sense of smell" odor is also defined as "a sensation or perception of the sense of smell."
In contrast to this air pollution is defined as "an undesirable state of the natural environment being contaminated with harmful substances as a consequence."

Purina smelled like the flower mill in Eugene. I don't think they rendered animals there, but they did mix bone meal (actually whole animals processed in Arizona). They are now owned by Land 0' Lakes and their petfood operation is in McMinville.
