I'm not European. But 'white trash' is just a label, just like 'euro trash'. They are just labels that get thrown around in certain circles. Some people believe them, others have much greater awareness. It depends on the person's experiences/backgrounds/awareness levels if they believe in all negative stereotypes or not.
But, with the U.S., there are a lot of 'white trash' stories that go international quite easily; and we do have Jerry Springer, which is shown abroad as well. So, I wouldn't be surprised at all if people in Europe are aware of that element of American society.
If they believe ALL of the U.S. is like that, it reflects more on what kind of stuff they are tuned into, more than anything. Human individuals reflect themselves when they interpret the world. If they see an entire nation as 'white trash' than it reflects that that is the kind of tv shows, news stories, and such that interests them above all others; which reflects themselves in some way. But, I think it would be rare to meet the European who is only aware of that element, and no other in American society.
Europeans don't think of Americans, period. Lol Tiger Beer, they STILL show Jerry Springer out there? The guy fell off the face of the earth here. I haven't seen his TV show in my TV guide since the early 2000s
In Russia, definitely not. Russians do not like Americans for their aggressive foreign policy. However Russians understand that it is a common policy of powerful country. Maybe it's image of an enemy, but image a very powerful enemy.
Part of the Russian believes that school education is very weak in the US, but they understand that higher education is very strong there. No, it is definitely not "white trash."
"White trash" is an American concept unknown in Europe.
Plus the fact that Europeans (this includes Brits too for any UKIPers out there) don't wake up every morning or throughout the day think a single thought about Americans I know Americans as a people have narcissistic tendencies, but the world doesn't give a **** about Americans in their daily lives
I've met Englishmen who think of Canada as backwards and the opposite of the UK. Is this a pretty common perception over there?

You seem preoccupied with what Europeans think of North Americans. Or with starting grenade threads notwithstanding your preemptive protestations to the contrary.
