Now US policy is more aggressive that Russia. I do not think that you will be able to give examples of major Russian aggression outside the post-Soviet countries for last 20 years. Russian aggression in the post-Soviet space is understandable. The collapse of the Soviet Union was disastrously fast and ill-conceived.
Russia is not European, nearer China I would say, always sticking together at the UN, rude tourists, doesn't give Jack about the environment, like cheap trashy goods..

Just an honest question here, not trying to start any arguments. An Austrian told me this is most Europeans' perception.
So ONE person from just ONE country tells you that, and thus it is the opinion of ALL the people in Europe, or at least the majority of the people in Europe?

As a matter of fact, thirty five years ago I was quite willing to fight, and possibly end up in a pile of twisted and burning wreckage, to guarantee Western European freedoms.
I will rebel against most Americans and give an honest opinion: I think the Vietnam War and Iraq War were both perfectly justified, and both the American Revolution and Civil War were NOT justified. And if it were up to me, I would have kept America NOT involved in the two world wars.
