Very interesting. What about people with south east asian roots? Are there any groups of such people who made their way into Europe over the centuries?

Not that I know of, the majority of the asiatic people from medieval times came from the asiatic sttepps who came into Europe in a series of waves, the biggest one being the Mongol invasion. And the usualy never went much further than Central Europe and the majority of which are extinct or intermarried I with the locals to the point that their genes are washed away. For instance Hungarians are an Uralic people from western Siberia, but today they look completely European.
I was in London once, there were many Pakistani & Afghan British people, and I also met a few Korean, Japanese and Vietnamese British as well. Frankfurt and Paris have a high number of ethnic Vietnamese and Chinese, as well.
As of 2014, Milan's Asian population amounts only to 7,4% of the total population but it has three huge communities with 42 thousands people from the Philippines, 25 thousands Chinese and 17 thousands from Sri Lanka. http://allegati.comune.milano.it/Sta..._cleta2014.pdf
In Prato, Asian population amounts 10% only but most of them are Chinese. In fact, Chinese make up 8,5% of the population. They are most likely more as many are illegals who are employed from their fellow countrymen in the textiles factories in the area. https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prato#...ne_demografica
