I'm going back to Paris in a week and this time around I was thinking I would rely on Uber to get around.

Paris is listed a city on Uber's web-site but looking at some of the news it appears that they have suspended service temporarily (this was back in early July).

So is Uber active and well? Particularly from the airports into city center and around Paris?

Thanks for your feedback.

It's active, only Uber pop have been declared illegal. But taking a Uber in Paris may not be the best way to move around nor the cheapest, and btw be very careful about the multiplier it can gets sometimes higher than x1.5 and then taxis are cheaper.

Thank you very much.

To be honest I am not a fan of Parisian cab drivers. I would say 50% seem to have some sort of animosity to outsiders even though I am sure tourism is a huge part of their revenue stream. I've had great experiences in the US with Uber and Lyft (and I know lyft is not in France) and I was hoping for the same personable experience (plus I like the cashless aspect of the service).

However if Taxi's are ultimately going to be cheaper then that will be what we will use.
