Yes I'm confused about that as well. It was originally supposed to be a guest spot but this is the third time Australia has been in it competitively. At least they send decent entries. Never quite worked out how Australia competes though. A lot of people say it is because they are active members of the EBU but Australia is just an associate member.

Associate members of the EBU are Australia, Canada, USA, Kazakhstan, China, South Africa, Bangladesh, Japan, Malaysia and others.

Who cares! The World Cup is a corrupt piece of **** anyway, the world prefers the Premier League.

No they're not, like every other so called 'act' on this show they are ****, like I said its the biggest waste of everybody's time there is, in fact I would go as far as to say that if you actually appear on this it damages your musical prospects, you become ridiculed, and I include the British entry in this too (whatever the hell it is).

I hope Brexit now means we can finally leave the equally corrupt and camp Eurovision Song Contest.

Although I don't know many people who even watch it anymore.

Over 200 million people watched it last year, a record.

Eurovision is not something you should take seriously. Take is as it is: a silly spectacle.

Otherwise I am just finding out that the eurovision does not take place on a single night anymore and that i have missed most of it. It was great watching it and laughing, the best part being the second part where every delegation ranks the others for 5 years until someone finally wins. The comments during this part used to always be the funniest.

Brexit will probably mean that we will come last (again) this year. I'm getting fed up of us paying towards this piece of crap, musical bull****! I demand a refund from my TV Licence!!

I can't remember the last time I watched the programme the whole way through (probably when Katrina & The Waves won it for us, many years ago). I usually avoid the singing, then watch the farcical/biased voting at the end (although it is not the same these days, without Terry Wogan's sarcasm over it).
