If you know the language, it isn't as monotonous but we could have still picked a better choice, the only reason it got chosen was because of the band finishing first refusing and her being second but we could have had a more audacious choice bringing a catchy ballad such as Scanu's or a trip hop song such as Hunt's
I'd write a critique of your first choice of song but upon remembering your actual Eurovision contestant I fell asleep yet again.

Anyway, the one that got chosen for Eurovision wasn't even the most unremarkable song of the Sanremo competition, there was another one that was quite a bit slower but at least its message would have reached everyone and brought votes if sang in English (the song was dedicated to the migrants who died month after month in the Mediterranean)
The more i listen other countries picks the more i think we'll finish last or thereabouts, i think it will serve RAI well and finally make them realize not to pick songs through the Sanremo festival where the jury decides for the 60% of the vote.
I much prefer this to most of the generic pop songs I've heard so far. The scenification is dumb (What's up with those lasers?) but at least the music is far more interesting.

Would have been an interesting choice, it would bring variety at least because Eurovision is getting more and more into a pop-dance contest, few countries are bringing songs that aren't in English, pop influenced by dance, house or disco elements and with the same old textes.
